Why We Ride the Zero SR/F — And Why It Makes Us Better Electricians

When most people picture an electrician’s work vehicle, they picture a white van. Ours is a 124mph electric superbike.

The Zero SR/F is the motorcycle we use to get to jobs across London, and it’s not just an eco statement — it’s genuinely the best tool for the job. Here’s why.

Speed where it matters

London traffic doesn’t reward vans. It rewards motorcycles. The SR/F does 0-60 in just over 3 seconds and shares the road with rapid response medical units for a reason — it gets through. We’re regularly on site within 30 minutes, often while a van-based competitor is still stuck on the A40.

That speed is the whole reason we can offer a 93% same-visit resolution rate. Getting there fast is half the job.

No noise. No fumes. No congestion charge.

The SR/F is fully electric, which means three things for our customers:

  • No congestion charge — we don’t pass it on, because we don’t pay it
  • No fumes in your home or business while we work
  • Near-silent arrival — no diesel rattle outside your window at 7am

In a city where EV adoption is accelerating fast, it felt right that London’s emergency electricians should be leading from the front.

176 miles of city range

With 17.3 kWh of battery and up to 176 miles of city range, the SR/F doesn’t need babysitting between jobs. We charge overnight and run all day. A full charge costs around £4.45 — less than a coffee and a sandwich.

Practical for the tools we carry

Electrical fault-finding doesn’t require a van full of cable drums. Most of our emergency callouts need diagnostic kit, test equipment, a selection of parts, and a skilled pair of hands. The SR/F handles that load easily — panniers on, tools in, helmet on, gone.

For bigger jobs, planned installations, or anything requiring significant materials, we arrange accordingly. But for the emergency callouts that make up the bulk of our work, the SR/F is perfect.

Bought from Magnet Motos

We sourced our SR/F from Magnet Motos, one of the UK’s specialist electric motorcycle dealers. They know these bikes inside out and made the whole process straightforward. If you’re considering going electric on two wheels — for work or otherwise — they’re worth speaking to.

The bigger picture

We’re electricians. We install EV chargers, solar panels, and smart home systems. It would be hard to look a customer in the eye while preaching the benefits of zero-emission transport and then pull up in a diesel Transit.

The SR/F is part of who we are. Fast, clean, and built to last.
